Summer has started

Well, the spring went by way to fast. So much stuff that I had to do and not enough time. At least I got a week of from work and went up to see some friends in the northern part of Sweden. They had their first baby in November, and she is so cute. And I'll be going up there with Mattias again in the beginning of August for the baptism. For Swedish flagday, June 6th, we went to Stockholm to see Springsteen perform on the 5th. It was a great show as always, but way to cold. I was so glad we decided to take a hotellroom that was a bit more expensive and get a jaccuzzi in the room. We really needed to warm up a bit. Saturday we went strolling around in old town, and went to the castle. We had some good food, and then we watched the soccergame between Sweden and Denmark with some of Mattias friends. Just to bad Sweden lost... Sunday was time to leave and we went to se one more castle, Drottningholm, which is were the Royal family lives. But we mostly just strolled around in the park and took a look at the Chinacastle.

The week after that I was fired because they have decided to downsize my department. And they are letting quite a few people go from the entire company. So I'll be working my last day August 31st. I'll have 4 weeks of vaccation from July 27th till August 23rd. So I'm only going to work one more week after that. But the company will pay me my monthly sallary until April, so I'll have some time to figure things out.

Having fun with friends

Well, finally we managed to find a day when we could go out and have fun. Two people working shift is making it hard, and the third one working lots of weekends. But yesterday I got on the train to Stenungsund and Maria picked me up. We got to chill for a bit and catching up before we started getting ready for a night out. Magdalena and a friend of her's showed up as well, and with Marias boyfirend Jimmy we were playing some guitarhero and Buzz. I'm not going to say how I did... Let's just say that reactiontime while drinking is not as good as normal... We left for Stenungsbaden where they dropped of Maria and me. There were some people I hadn't seen in years wich was fun. Dancing, drinking and talking to friends for a few hours was something I was in great need of. And even if I'm a bit tired today and have to work the nightshift it was so worth it. Looking at cute guys wasn't to bad either, and it was nice to just look. I'm still enjoying my singlelife to much to screw that up...

A new year...

Ok, I know I've been terrible at updating my blog, but I'll try to write more often from now on. I guess that shouldn't be to hard considering how long it's been since last time. I really enjoyed my time in the States and can't wait till I get to go back again. It's sad not beeing able to see everyone more often. But I'm not going to let it be another 11 years before I get over there again. Since I got back home I've been working alot, and trying to catch up with friends and everything else that piled up while I was gone. I got to spend a day with my youngest cousins before christmas. We made gingerbreadcookies, meatballs, and marzipancandy for Christmas. It was alot of fun but exhausting... We had some time to play WII as well, which Oscar enyojed the most since I had some games they didn't. A couple of days before they came over they asked if they could spend the night, so they did without any problems. Unfortunetly we kept so busy I totally forgot to take any pictures. Christmas eve I spent most of the day working. Or should I say sitting at work, not much to do fortunately. In the evening when I finally got of work I went out to my sisters and got to celebrate with her family, my dad and two youngest brothers. Santa was nice enough not to show up before I got there... I'll add some pictures from that later on. We spent the night there since they live on an island with not that many ferryconnections late on Cristmas eve. I spent Newyears eve at work as well, working the nightshift. So I celebrated the new year with my colleagues. We had front row seats for some really nice fireworks, and had some nice food to eat. It was so nice to not having to plan what to do for the new years. Well, other than that my life's been pretty booring lately, so I don't really have much to write about. But hopefully I'l have more of a social life now that I'm not going to work as many nights as I did at the end of 2008.

So I finally made it back to Plainview

Well, it looked the same for the most part, but still alot have changed. Guess the fact that everybody's getting older has something to do with it. This time we could go to the bar for a drink instead of the cornfields... And I was staying at Heathers parents, wich means I was staying at the Plainview cop's house. We did have a great weekend catching up on 11 years of gossip and talking. And of course we had to do some driving around in the country, and a shot of Aftershock at the bar... Dallas and Heather. I made it to Nebraska

After a little over 2 weeks in Minnesota with lots of fun with the relaives, I made it down to Nebraska. There's been plenty of junkfood and beer in Minnesota, so I'm trying to be a little bit more healthy down here. The drinking... With Andrew. But we did go to some twinsgames to. At least we managed to get two of the Anderson brothers together at the same time. Me, Nick and Brett at the ballgame. The junkfood... With Nick. And here's Jack playing in Lincoln. Three kids at once is a really good workout.... Gigi has me on my feet for most of the days... So, I guess I can burn of some of those calories from MN...

The fist week in the US

Ok, I landed in Minneapolis after beeing up for 25 hours. But I did get a little sleep on the plane between Philladelphia and Minneapolis. I've done some shopping since I got here, and just walking around alot in Minneapolis. The Minnesota State Fair was really fun to see. So many people, and so many things to see and eat... Here is a picture of the carving they make in butter. They make one of each of the girls competing for Princess Kay of the Milky Way.

I spent Labour Day Weekend with Nick and his friends up at his cabin at Lake Nichols. It's close to Duluth, so we went in to Duluth on saturday and had dinner with his dad and grandma. That was really nice.

Getting a late night dip in the lake. Some shampoo and soap and you feel as good as new after a few days in a cabin without indoor plumbing. It was cold, but it felt really refreshing after.

Here's the Stone Arch bridge in Minneapolis. We went for a walk around the old milling area, when we got back to Minneapolis monday afternoon. There's alot of interesting buildings and ruins down there.

Kungsviken

We went down to the ocean for a swim. This is a place that's 5 minutes away from where I grew up. And it's where i went to swimming school when I was a kid. Out on the cape is where my mom's dad grew up. We sold the house over ten years ago, but i miss the view from that place. So we walked out so I could get some pictures. This is the view out to "Malö strömmar". And a view over to Dragsmark. Where they used to take the rowboat to get to church.

And here's a picture of dad. This is the new house where he grew up. This is from the bathing place looking out from the bay. It lokated on the north side with cliffs on the sides. So it's usually a bit warmer in the water. Unless the winds come in from the north. The green house is where my grandpa used to work as a boatbuilder. I prefer to go swimming where there's cliffs. That way I won't have to get all the sand back home...
